About Us
The Ames (Iowa) Camera Club is a community group for those interested in photography — the fun, the artistry, sometimes the gadgetry. The membership ranges from professionals to complete beginners. We all have something to learn from each other.
Meetings are generally held the second Thursday of each month between September and May, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room upstairs in the Ames Public Library. Topics in the past have included presentations by wildlife, news and sports photographers, discussions about photography techniques, and software tutorials; sometimes we gather just to show each other pictures we've taken.

Announcements
- The Story County Conservation Center is looking for one or more volunteer event photographers for its Fall Festival, which is to be held October 5th, 3-6 pm. This is the 50th anniversary year of the SCC. Anyone interested should contact Amber at 232-2516.
- Ames Parks and Recreation is accepting submissions of photos of their facilities and sponsored activies, for use in their printed guides. This is not a contest but an ongoing invitation for amateur images to be displayed with photographer credit. They want JPG format in reasonably high (~300dpi) resolution; please include your name and a description of what the photo depicts, and email to parksandrecphotos@printspd.com.

All meetings are free to the public; there is no charge to attend. You will, however, need to join before entering the club's contests or exhibitions. For details please contact Luke Healey, or you can ask pretty much anyone at one of the regular meetings.
We are a member of the North Central Camera Club Council, which encourages activity among the various regional clubs and organizes contests.
